At the Fitzwilliam Campus, we have three main programmes of study: our Primary provision, our Gems programme, and our Achievement Support Programme.

Primary

In KS1 and KS2, our learners access the national curriculum which is expertly delivered through a range of innovative means and techniques.

We teach English both with whole class text work, (building vocabulary and language), as well as in a personalised, targeted carousel (focusing on literacy skills). We follow Twinkl phonics and the PM Reading Scheme.

In Maths, we follow White Rose Maths – a fantastic scheme for ensuring deep understanding of number and mathematical concepts.  Our science curriculum is practical and enquiry based with pupils working towards Star awards.

Our learners are also taught PE twice a week to ease anxiety, tension, and stress and help improve attention in class. In addition, we offer practical cookery sessions throughout the year to boost confidence and allow our young people to make smarter food choices.  Each class has a weekly 'Forest school' lesson at our Trinity site where they learn about the natural world through practical and physical learning.

Gems

The GEMs Programme at Fitzwilliam Campus is for girls aged 12-16 years, who are in school years 8 – 11. It is a targeted programme aimed at meeting the therapeutic and educational needs of female learners who, for a variety of reasons, have been unable to engage successfully in a mainstream education offer. The programme offers a unique blend of personal, social and educational opportunities all of which are highly tailored to individual needs and circumstances.
